OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recycle for Mission  -  pick up a flyer of locations in the Social Hall it’s a great way to give!!
 Meals on Wheels desperately needs drivers !
This is a valuable program delivering meals Monday through Friday to housebound individuals from
Valley of Enchantment to Running Springs – the 4 routes each take about  1 ½ - 2 hours to complete.
Volunteer for just 1 route – 1 day a week – or offer to be an “alternate” driver
 (snow days are automatically exempt and if weather/roads are not safe drivers are not required to do the route)
Please contact Irene Wirtenberger at 909-337-4972.
Our Good Sam Closet
This program provides emergency food to those encountering unforeseen difficulties.
It’s easy to help – add an item to your shopping list; drop off at the church on your way home !
Canned meats, vegetables and fruits, soups, pasta and sauce, cereal,
packaged milk, rice, beans, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, crackers, diapers
small soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, toothbrushes, other hygiene items are welcome
and   Men’s  soaps/shaving cream/aftershave etc would be appreciated too !
You may also donate Scrip cards to purchase items needed to provide a “balanced” bag !
Be sure to tell the person selling the cards – so it will be recorded as a donation for you.
  (it will also result in 6% going to our General Budget revenue)
A collection box is in the Social Hall with a list of useful and requested items
Please send donations to:  TOUCH OF HOME,  Box 608, Crestline, CA   92325-0608
Call Bill and Diane Boone,  338-0876,  for information and/or to volunteer to help.
 (formerly Christmas in April)
   Saturday, April 28
7:00am breakfast served – then off to job sites!!
In the past, LACPC’s  participation in this great event has been outstanding!
This year we hope to again sponsor or share a sponsorship of a house ($1500)
as well as provide a team of volunteers of all ages !!
If we are able to sponsor a house ~~ and ~~ we already have $ 635 ~~
we will (most likely) be able to do the work on that house !
We work on houses that need repairs/maintenance owned by seniors,
those with disabilities and/or families with children
who lack the income to have or do the work necessary.
 Volunteers work together by group – unless so many sign-up
that they may need to become two groups!
Please see or call John Moore  (337-9100) to sign-up
as well as
make any $$ monetary $$ donations
you would like to consider towards our house!!
                       This is truly “MISSION IN ACTION”  in our own community
Please sign-up today
and
 JOIN US!!
